Im a 19 year old female, I'm 5 foot and 110 pounds. I don't have a lot of fat to lose so I need to tone up. What is recommended for me for cardio and what machine is best? I like the elliptical and the stair master best. Also, my sides on my core are wide and I'd like to know a good exercise for that. And also if you think machines are okay for me to use, legs, arms, etc. thanks!

It is perfectly okay for you to use the stair master and elliptical machine. The stair master is great for toning the muscles in your lower body, and the elliptical machine can tone the muscles in your upper and lower body at the same time. You should include resistance training in your regime two or three times per week. Squats, lunges, push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups are examples of resistance activities. You should perform eight to 12 reps and two or three sets.

Additionally, Russian twists are great for chiseling the sides of your core. You will need a weight plate, dumbbell or medicine ball for this exercise. You will need to sit on the floor with your knees and hips bent at a 90 degree angle. After that, you will need to hold the medicine ball, weight plate or dumbbell in front of you. Twist as far as you can to your left and then change sides. You should perform eight to 12 reps and two or three sets.
