hey trainer i am 16 years old and i am 231 pounds i have started going gym around 3 weeks ago. when i go gym i normally start off by going on the treadmill or bike and burn 100 calories then move onto what i do for example on thursdays i do chest and tricep workout then end it with cardio. On friday i do back and bicep workout and end it with cardio and sunday i do legs and end it with cardio. I am trying to get rid of my belly fat and at least go back to the 70-80kg. Is it good that i do body workout such as chest, bicep etc when i am trying to lose weight? because of course i like to put on muscle too. So i was wondering if i should stop the body workouts and just stick to cardio? is that something i should do ?

You should continue to do the chest and bicep workouts. Combining weight training with cardiovascular exercise is a lot more effective than just doing cardio alone. Weight training helps increase your metabolism, so you will still be burning calories after you have completed your workout. You will have a much easier time losing weight and burning belly fat if you continue do the weight training. You should be able to reach your goal weight within six months to a year if you follow the same program you are doing now.

Not only will weight training help you lose weight and burn belly fat, but it will also help you put on muscle. Furthermore, weight training will help you strengthen your muscles.
